The Easy Rider Beluga

My kayak is an Easy Rider Beluga made of kevlar for light weight and strength. It is a two-seat or tandem model just under 17 feet long and 32 inches wide at the widest point. I chose this model from the large selection of Easy Rider craft because I paddle most often solo but occasionally like to take friends along too. The Beluga is ideally suited for expeditions and is in use all over the world by travel outfitters.

This is my second Easy Rider kayak, purchased in 1987. When on solo treks I use the front cockpit for storing the bike and trailer and wheels, plus a large flexible water container. The rear cockpit is where I sit and paddle and also store my camping gear and food.

The Bike Friday arrived on Tuesday 1-30-01 in its large box. I took it home and assembled it in a couple of hours and was please with the way it looked. I also removed the hitch from my regular bike and installed it on the new bike.
